EMCC Mariposa Hall

Technology Labs | Collaboration Spaces | Nursing Labs | Learning Studios | Offices | LEED-NC Gold certified

1 story | 29,000 SF | $8M | Avondale, AZ | 2008

Mariposa Hall is Estrella Mountain Community College’s first designated LEED project. The College wanted to celebrate this milestone as an example of its commitment to sustainability. The design embodies the Colleges commitment to student education, community and the environment. The design concept for the building was about creating an environment that interacts with and educates the end-users.  From the solar hallway, where the quality of light changes throughout the day, to the rain catching gutters that collect rain-water and distributes it to surrounding landscaping, the design creates a series of day-long experiences for the end-users, on how a building responds and interact with the environment. Project completed while at Orcutt | Winslow.
