Set in the
beautiful red rocks of Sedona, the redevelopment of the campus at West Sedona
School, was master-planned to take advantage of the views to nature while
creating a strong link to its artesian community roots with the art
boulevard. The goal was to come up with
an updated contextual design that worked with the existing context of the older
buildings that were to remain, while providing for a new front door and strong
master-plan to better organize the campus, all while having a net zero impact
on the utilities. Walls of glass and natural
materials were used to connect the users to the surrounding nature. The building rooflines and the overall form
inspired by the adjacent mountains were used to create a campus architecture
that is nestled within the picturesque red rock landscape. Project completed
while at Orcutt | Winslow.
